Hey y’all! It’s been a minute since we’ve hopped on the blog! We’ve tied up most of our summer weddings (they were all so perfect!) and have been enjoying some down time as we prepare for our fall wedding season!
We’ve also had some engagement sessions this summer. I could go on and on about all of the reasons I love engagement sessions. But I won’t. At least not on this blog post.
This engagement session that I had last night was extra special. The couple that I photographed has an upcoming wedding this fall. I was super excited to meet them for the first time because they are the absolute sweetest and cutest! To add to all of that, they chose super special place for their engagement session: their new home!
These two had recently bought their first home in Durham. They had been in the house for only two weeks and it already looked so amazing and had so many sweet details. Capturing their photos here was an amazing way to tell their love story in a way that was so personal and special to them. Plus, it meant that their sweet pup, Chloe got to join in on the fun! If you’re on the fence about where to get your engagement photos done, remember that you can literally do them anywhere, even in your own home!
We started with some cozy photos on the couch and I just LOVE the way that they turned out. After that, we moved into the kitchen, where these two popped some champagne! They certainly have a lot to celebrate!
We ended our session by heading out to their back porch. It was a hot day, but the evening brought some cooler temperatures. I love ending engagement sessions by getting some closer-up shots of these tender moments.
It’s safe to say that I am now obsessed with in-home engagement sessions.
