It feels like spring is so close in North Carolina! Let me tell you about this GORGEOUS photo session with an amazing couple at the North Carolina Museum of Art!
As we’ve mentioned before, the North Carolina Museum of Art is one of the most popular spots for engagement photos in the Raleigh-Durham area, and for good reason! In one relaxed session you can get pictures with a cinematic, urban feel AND nature photos in the expansive Museum park. And did we mention the sunsets???
We also love the NCMA for its location. It’s nicely centered in the Triangle area, not more than 15 minutes from RTP, Cary, or downtown Raleigh (where we live!)
Couples sometimes ask what they should wear to their engagement photo session. The simple answer is whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident! For this soon-to-be bride, that was a BEAUTIFUL sundress. It was a little chilly at the session, but so worth it! (And, you can bundle up between shots) You and your fiancé don’t need to over-match your outfits, but its great if the colors come from the same pallet. Here her dress had pops of blue that matched his shirt!
There are SO MANY reasons to have professional engagement photos taken, but one is for your save-the-dates! A beautiful set of images of you and bae is just what you need when announcing your wedding to the world.
As a general guideline, couples mail their save-the-dates about four to six months before the wedding (or even earlier if they're planning a destination wedding that might require more planning and travel arrangements from their guests!)
This couple was in the last stages of getting their save-the-dates sent out, so we wanted to give them lots of great photo options! We started with the worst-kept secret in Raleigh photography: the reflecting pool. It didn’t disappoint (it never does).
But Charlie was the real star of the show. Without his help, his parents might forget their wedding date! No chance of that happening with Charlie around.
Is it ok to bring your dog to your engagement photo session? YES! We love love LOVE shooting with dogs. They are such an integral part of your family, so why not include them when commemorating one of life’s most precious moments?
Of course, we had to finish the session capturing an iconic North Carolina sunset. The light gets downright magical in golden hour. Is there anything more beautiful than a classic NC sunset twinkling through the pine trees?
